Fasting Sucks. Doo This Instead!

Although I subscribe to the merits of long- term fasting, I don’t believe fasting is a sustainable means of losing weight, improving health or achieving really anything other than a pension for an eating disorder. I first got into colonics in my 20s when I was miserable at a desk job and terrified of “the desk bod” my body was fated to evolve into. So I became utterly obsessed with exercise and then juice fasting once I got injured from exercising too much. I learned about extreme dieting, specifically eating raw vegan, which just made me fucking anxious and orthorexic (obsessed with health food). Then I became obsessed with purging via colonics, which was creatively packaged as healthy. Ironically, I looked and felt terrible, but thankfully I bounced out of this cycle in two years and slowly started educating myself to develop a healthier relationship with food, my life’s purpose and quite literally all the other shit in my life.

Now, almost twenty years later, I have learned a lot from studying, but mostly from my own experiences and those of my clients. I absolutely love what I DOO. I have learned so much from everyone who is brave enough to drop their pants for me and literally open up the floodgates.

Years back, a client of mine who is an ER surgeon would come in when he was water fasting. He’d seen water fasting reverse diabetes! I personally would never embark on a water fast unless I was severely ill, but little did I know that years later a science-backed fast called Prolon would be popularized that mimicks the benefits of water fasting without having to actually fast! I am a huge proponent of Prolon as a five day reset. Yes, it’s challenging, but it’s also easy in the sense that you are provided all of your meals, snacks and tea in a box for five days and will achieve ketosis (fat burning) autophagy (celllular turnover) without having to think about it. Here’s a link for 20% off. On average, I do Prolon fasting mimicking diet once or twice a year and will be starting my next round this month! Join me!
