A Break from Shit TV

For those who are new here, I am born and bred in New Jersey with strong roots in Miami thanks to my Cuban background. Therefore, I spend the holidays and New Years in Miami every year ever since my daughter was born so we can get this quality time with her cousins because family is very important to us. That said, we are flying home today and I cannot wait to catch up with my clients and on my shit TV. It’s been nice taking a break from my regularly scheduled addictions, but I am so ready to jump back into them all!

Have you heard of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives? I’d heard of this show, but really had no interest in yet another expose of repressed poly women, but the show is refreshingly the exact opposite! I started binging this show leading up to our trip to Miami. The young women are mostly in their 20s (which frankly I feel is one of the most difficult decades to navigate) allowing cameras into their lives while they reconcile their rebellion against the church with their reverence for it. They loosely follow some Mormon rules like no coffee unless it’s ingested up their ass. They created MomTok on TikTok posting cute videos of their rebellion, which has turned into a huge business for them landing them the show and other endorsements that generate wealth for their families. Many of them are actually the breadwinner in their households. They are very open with their shame from swinging to porn addiction to cheating scandals to gossiping to mental illness to sexual abuse etc etc. So I personally think these young women fun AF to watch and make me appreciate being the dinosaur that I am where social media was barely existent in my early 20s.

I am 100% addicted to this show and if you are looking for some shit TV to watch, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is on Hulu.
